So here we are...the final two hours. Tension rises and nobody's so saint, huh? Let's get this show on the road, shall we??
First, let me mention the fact that they used the 'Events Occur in Real Time' phrase at the start made me feel nostalgic all over again :'(
This hour was full of tension, being the peak the confrontation between Dahlia Hassan and President Taylor. I take back whatever bad words I said on the previous recap about the first because both her and her daughter have really stepped it up and played a really important role here. Kayla told her mother about Reed's claims and the fact that she can't reach the reporter at the number Meredith had provided. Suspicions arise and, before President Suvarov gets to the UN building, she decides to confront Allison about those. For Hassan's widow that was a bold move, yet shows us a woman who stands firm in her choices. I really felt for her when she found out the Russians had been behind her husband's murder, but she's right. Why would she sit down at the table with liars and killers to sign a fake treaty?? But, well...they DO have a case, as she pointed out, but for the time being she'll have to swallow up her pride and pretend all of them are friends.
Combined with this, it's President Taylor. I'm sorry, but I really dislike the character right now. The woman has lost all logical thinking, and did she REALLY think that, by keeping her mouth shut about that was the right thing? WAAAAAAY more drama, but, even if she threatened with an invasion against the IRK, she can't hold her facade any longer. She has admitted Reed was in custody, that the evidence was seized and that everyone is at the UN ready for the biggest diplomatic action in ages, even to sign it with Omar's pen as a gesture of peace when they really can't stand each other, let alone say pretty polite words.
All thanks to Logan, who is recovering from Jack's attack and peacefully watching his deed develop in front of his eyes. What he wanted to achieve he enjoys it in front of a TV...up until towards the end of the hour he gets a call (I think it was from Pillar's phone), where our hero admits he's got a rifle aimed at his head and, technically is at his mercy. This isn't over yet, dear :)
Jack is a whole another clinical case, if you ask me. And it doesn't matter that he's bleeding and leaving blood traces everywhere, that didn't stop him from carrying that XL version of his man purse and sneak inside Pillar's car. It really cracked me up when he said they'll catch Jack over the phone, he hangs up and, BAM! Gun aimed at his head. He manages to get inside the building and get as much data out of Pillar as possible. It was fun to see the guy plead for his life and just simply punched him and let his anger out before fleeing the scene and finding shelter somewhere else. And the satisfaction face he had when aiming the rifle at Logan was...PRICELESS!!
And last but not least, there's CTU that seems to have taken a while off on the field. Chloe and Cole are working on finding Jack before the wrong hands do so. Chloe, of course, is worried for her friend and that if she doesn't talk some sense into the man...well, they'll shoot to kill. It's also important to mention that here nobody can be trusted. Anytime anyone's back can turn. But Arlo caught Jack through facial recognition software in the top floor. O'Brian manages to convince Ortiz to give her 10 minutes, and he hands her a gun in return. As soon as Chloe sets foot, Jack disarms her, asks who else knows he's there and has her on his signature choke...If he did that to her, what will happen when the clock stops ticking??
