Welcome to my latest recapping section. This is the original version of the series (the Argentina one), and even though it's from a couple of years ago I felt like watching it all over again, because it's awesome and it has only cool actors in it.
Recaps will be done in english because of a facility of mine, and the idea is deal with a recap a day (hence the tag).

Welcome to Mega News, a network with a busy day, or so it seems. Everyone’s rushing around ready to go to the air. We see a couple hosting the last segment that is about dog owners obliged to pick up their dog’s crap (oh, and the woman lowering the man’s chair with her heel in mid-air) to then go to a live note. When the cameras are off, they don’t get along and the guy is really egocentric and a real pain in the butt, but soon they’re back on the air.
From an office, they’re watching the rating go up and see how when this guy (Martin Pells) is on the air smashes the competition…where is exactly we’re going. A woman is asking her assistant when is this Martin person due to sign contract with them. That’ll happen in a few days.
Back on the set, the show, it’s coming to an end. They are husband and wife, acting all happy and kissing. But when the cameras stop…oh, man. Get ready, this is war and each has their weapons. When they leave the channel, a bunch of reporters are onto the country’s most famous matrimony. Pretty house, pretty condo. The perfect façade that fades from the door in. He goes to play with his dog as she talks to her lover. But the husband quickly leaves dressed in an overall and gets inside a service van that tales him away with no one noticing. That gets to another place, where a guy is waiting for him. Turns out the perfect husband is gay, and his boyfriend is the son of the network’s owner. Just what he needed after a long day!
Abdolut spot hosted by the couple. When they endorse products it cracks me up!!
Anyways Sol (the wife) is with Diego Planes (her lover), who’s working out. She seems disgusted by the ad and both have one thing in common: They want Pells out of their lives once and for all. Oh, Planes thinks so highly of himself because he wants to take Martin’s spot…in every sense of the word.
The day after, at the network, the crew is having a meeting to see what would go into the show that day. Between them all, they don’t seem to get anywhere. One is playing solitaire, and the staff tries to please Martin. Then we jump into another end of show and more personal attacks between Sol and Martin. Those seem to be amusing, at some point. And each takes off with their respective right hand.
On his dressing room, Pells seems super angry and tells Sol that tonight will be the night he’ll go talk to Franco (the owner) because he can’t take it anymore, and that he’s ready to go to M News. But Andrada tries to keep him there by reminding Pells that he created his persona and that all Nuñez wants to do with this is use him as a mean to sink him. The argument gets super heated and a woman is overhearing it from the office and bursts in. Franco says the only reason why he’s where is he is relies on the fact that he’s the couple of his son. That topic seems to be really delicate, because Franco pushes him through a window and Martin falls unconscious among broken glasses. Franco believes he has killed the country’s most famous man, and Amanda (the woman who had entered earlier) takes over the situation. Everyone’s freaked out, but she insists that Andrada goes home, and that she’ll think of something since no one saw anything.
Then it takes us to a young man crying over somebody…but it’s only an acting, relax,. We are now in a theatre school, and the teacher says it’s the last one until further notice. A girl named Marina talks to Gonzalo Echague (the teacher) about paying the following week. Him and his assistant Sergio are desperate because the mortgage is due tomorrow and they’re broke. All they have (apart from the beer and cigarettes) is an old coin framed that Gonzalo’s grandmother gave him when he was born. Solution? Take it to a pawn shop to get by.
Franco’s driving when he gets a call from Amanda. Martin isn’t dead, but he’s in coma and has to think of a solution before he actually dies. They’re still in the office, her brother (who’s a doctor) is checking him out. The night is rainy and Franco’s very upset…figures he wasn’t looking at the road because he just ran Gonzalo over (who had just left a bar where he was with Sergio). Gonzalo’s right, his luck is about to change. But he has no clue how much. Andrada goes to help him and asks him to take him to a hospital. When he takes a good luck at his face, he notices he looks just like Pells, and offers him to go grab a coffee.
To the rhythm of tango, Franco asks that his associates find an apartment to house Pells as Echague arrives, and they talk about who they are. Gonzalo’s an underground actor, and he looks slightly better. He seems interested with his situation (life, fate, the mortgage on the house)…And Andrada’s ready for his next move. Oh please, Gonzalo! Please think it twice! Franco explains what had happened to Martin (forced vacations for a while), and wants to offer him “the role of your life”: To replace Pells without anyone knowing, in exchange for a contract that will change his life. I mean, he’s offering him 300.000 bucks.
The meeting’s over, and he’s discussing it with Sergio, who also notices the resemblance between the two, and is pretty much encouraging him to go ahead and accept. At the network, Amanda says she’ll take care of it, although it’s clear that she’s not very trustworthy regarding this person and how look-alike they can be.
Gonzalo receives the visit from Amanda Wedell in his theatre school. Once they cross eyes, she seems to notice it too and brings him the contract (which needs to stay confidential) and that by tomorrow the papers need to be signed. Gonzalo leaves in Sergio the responsibility to read it first. But what does he do instead? He picks up a chick at a bar!
The following morning Franco, Amanda and the attorney get to Gonzalo’s place, where he is shown the money. Echangue excuses himself a second and calls Sergio. Figures, he didn’t read the contract…while the three make fun of how naïve Gonzalo is being. All Sergio does is tell him to go ahead and sign.
Next, Franco is surrounded by reporters who want to know what’s up with Pells. His response is that he’s overseas for a few days, and once he’s back he’ll communicate his decision. Both Tomas and Nuñez are watching and are shocked. Also Sol and Diego (oh, wait…Wasn’t Sol’s maiden name Casenave and not Echague?), who are thrilled.
Tomas goes to his father’s office to find out what’s really going on with Martin. The real Pells was right: Andrada’s son is really sticky like gum.
Amanda gets to the school, ready to begin a total makeover in no time. And she mentions she has to quit the cigarette, but Gonzalo replies “no way”. So soon he has to start learning the life and ways of Martin Pells.
And this is where Wedell says the best line: “Leave no trace of who he is. Make him a person”. And in comes the physical part, but all the way. At the end, he is exactly like him. Looks like him, talks like him, the whole package….except for the sneakers. He’ll have to use shoes.
The staff (Daniela, Lily, Alvaro, Nacho & Charly) are again at a meeting. Pells/Gonzalo is supposed to return that day, but since no one knows the truth…
Franco and Gonzalo are on their way to the network, where reporters await them and Gonzalo just whines about not wanting to use shoes because that is not part of his nature and practices what he has to say. Once inside, he’s welcomed back by all the workers (it’s true that the guy isn’t liked very much). On stage, Sol walks by and greets him with that love/hate dynamic. If only she knew, but looks like he’s instantly hooked by her…Diego Planes also points out he took really good care of her in his absence. Jealousy there, but according to the rest, Planes sucks as a host!
On the set, poor Gonzalo looks like he’s gonna crap his pants or something. Everyone’s speculating on what’s so strange about him. He looks at Sol with curiosity as a minute is left to go on air. In comes the characteristic music of the show. Gonzalo is speechless, and that gives way to an awkward moment where everyone is expecting. But eventually he comes up with something and improvise about the choice Pells was due to make: HE’S STAYING IN MEGA NEWS much to Nuñez’s dismay. Rating is rising, they act like the happy couple and Tomas calls his father from home. Franco’s right. This is only getting started, and they have to be careful with THAT detail (Tomas).
At the competition, Nuñez is asking herself and her staff what went wrong, if she agreed to everything he asked for during negotiations. Something’s up, and she wants to investigate it.
After they are off the air and the happy couple-kissing act is over, he tries to speak honestly, but she’s acting. He declines the water Charly brought him, but Amanda eventually has him drink it and follow her somewhere because people’s waiting. So he does, but takes off the shoes first.
Press is all over the couple and again the act is underway as Martin/Gonzalo talks about what motivated his decision. They get into the car and once away from the flashes, she says she knows everything: That he set this up for his own benefit. More photographers wait for him at home, and inside they get n with their everyday routines: She talks to Diego, and he asks who is coming as his dog is around and he is taken away without a clue of where he’s going. He gets inside the van where Amanda is inside, and all he wants to know is what went wrong and where he’s going. With the overall off, they get to Tomas’ house and Amanda says that’s home for him and that he has fun.
The van leaves and his WTF face is priceless. He is totally lost, and it gets even more bizarre when Tomas gets behind him, and he’s all like ‘My love, you’re back’…kiss included.
