Sunday's recap.
We start with where we left it off: The kiss, with the couple saying they’re in love. Tomas tells Amanda he’s simply disgusted with the scene. Everybody is clapping as they make their grand entrance. Champagne flies, and Franco and Nuñez toast and talk about old times. Tomas tells him he’s hating it as Diego and Sol talk, and the birthday woman offers to throw them a party if they re-marry.
Sergio starts to hook up with a random girl, but with no success. Gonzalo comes closer as the happiest man in the world. He’s in love, but I figured that out from moment one. Amanda lights Franco’s cigar before she and Nuñez have a round. Sol and Gonzalo share happily, being the envy of others. At the end of the night, Gonzalo/Martin tells Tomas that the wisest thing to do is that he stays with Sol tonight, because the press is all over them.
The party and drinks go on at home between Sol and Gonzalo. Who is more drunk? But Diego had to come in the middle and blow it off!! So he drinks a beer to let his sadness fade…only dream of the moment when he doesn’t have to lie to her anymore, and be able to confess his true feelings. But dreams end up being nightmares, and please don’t get me started there!
The morning after, he’s forced to swallow that bitter pill, let alone the hangover both are suffering. Having to share the same table with the lovebirds, he’s forced to call Amanda and ask for a meeting. The reason for that is he wants release, at least for one night, otherwise he’ll go crazy. He NEEDS women. Amanda thinks it’s a stupidity, but Franco sees that his distractions are caused by the lack of sex. But eventually he is granted one night of liberty as his old self…under their terms. Amanda will take care of everything.
Daniela and Sol check all the covers and talk about the party last night. Seems she had a lot of fun, and Daniela is jealous. Sol feels something’s missing with Diego, and Daniela has an encounter with Nacho where she confronts him about his absence. Her shirt says ‘diva’ on the back, and as soon as she’s out, Lily shows up. Nacho will have to delay her to be with Daniela (even though his excuse was zero credible)…or so I thought, because he makes out another excuse. This lie will not last long. But for the time being he says goodbye to the producer.
Gonzalo is still anxious, and Amanda tries to calm him down as she tells him to call Tomas and tell him that he’ll be in a meeting at the government house until late. Sergio has brought everything they need in a bag. Night falls, and aboard a van he’s transformed. He’s in his theatre school, going over his things. He calls Marina, a friend and former student so they catch up that night. She thinks he’s disappeared so suddenly, but anyway agrees to meet with him as he smokes in peace.
Franco and Amanda flirt a little. Meanwhile, Gonzalo meets with Marina in a club where everyone seems to know him. He says he’s been away because of a lot of issues going through his head. The TV is showing a rerun of a Pells interview, and two people start criticizing him. Gonzalo steps it up and defends him…well, himself. LOL! Marina thinks he’s changed because why is he defending Pells now.
At Mega News, Alvaro offers Lily a ride before he goes home, but she says she’ll stay a little longer, which is the sugarcoated version that she’s been alone…because Nacho is getting down and dirty with Daniela. Tomas is once again ranting to Charly from his house. And now Tomas wants to control Martin’s every move.
Back at the bar, Gonzalo and Marina are the last ones to leave to the theater school. The poor guy’s been needy for too long, and accidentally calls Marina ‘Sol’. But he says it’s as if she were his sun. The morning after, his beard almost comes off and Sergio comes to the rescue. He has to become Pells once again as he tells his best friend about what happened. Gonzalo seems eager to let the public know that the real Pells has a human side. For that, he checks the binder Amanda brought when they signed the contract. He finds a picture and figures out Pells grew up in an orphanage.
Sol arrives by herself at the station, and a girl says she has messages for Martin. The first thing she does is head to her dressing room. Daniela tells her Tomas is around the set, and before they go on the air, Lily tells her he messed up with the lights, causing an argument. Diva fight between Tomas and Sol! And the rest is like ‘what should we do?’
Gonzalo, against what Sergio thinks, will head to the orphanage to find out what Pells was like before. The nun that runs it is surprised to see him come back after so many years, and a guy that was his friend is pissed off as hell (who thinks Pells has no shame: Why if he didn’t come back in 20 years, he does now?). Just for the sake of it, he lets him in. Looks to me like Pells became famous and rich, totally forgetting his origins. But still Gonzalo makes time to play soccer with the kids.
The policy in Mega News, according to Lily, is that all tapes be checked by Ricardo earlier. Nacho comes up behind her and she asks how he did with his mother in law when he actually was with Daniela. In Martin’s dressing room, Sergio finds a box, but he seems more interested on the money than on a picture when Martin was a child. Gonzalo notices they look alike A LOT, and this is confirmed when he realizes Pells has a coin just like the one his grandma gave him.
He goes to Amanda’s office to tell him about the coin. She says she gives him the coin with the promise he’ll go to a friend that knows this shit. And he does: This coin is a rare Spanish coin, and Amanda pays the man in dollars so that he goes figure out more. Meanwhile, Sergio has been able to forge Pells’ signature “to open himself the doors of the good life”. And it seemed to work, because he was leaving a bank. Oh, how Gonzalo is going to be when he finds out! He comes back with a lot of clothing, and even catches Charly hearing from outside as him and Sol talk about where has he been. At first, when he says he was at the orphanage she’s like ‘be honest’. But is shocked when she sees he’s being honest.
On air, he says he’ll donate to that home and asks that people collaborate with clothes and toys. The next day, the nun calls Gonzalo on his phone to thank him for everything they have received. Of course, everyone is shocked that Martin Pells is doing social work.
For Sol’s show, Charly goes to pick up a guy that does tarot…but unfortunately, they’re locked inside the elevator. Lily is hysterical with the situation, and tells Sol they’ll put him on a live contact by phone. But it’s air time, and the guy is hearing it all from the elevator as Charly is totally freaking out: Totally blowing up the interview!
OK, Sergio is insane! He bought himself a CAR! Gonzalo wanted to assassinate him here and now. That is, of course, gossip topic of the girls. When bumping with Amanda, Gonzalo asks her about the coin. She says it’s worthless, and after that she says Franco has summoned him. He’s not exactly happy with the little helping stunt he pulled. They want the people to invest in them, not give away stuff.
On air, he says he’ll donate all his money to the orphanage, writing a check there. And Sergio wants to die.
You wanted news? Now you have them. Till next episode!
Nicodrina.
