Last recap done with the method of 'doing it as I watch'. This was only because I ran a little behind on the recaps for situations explained in previous posts. Let's just hope that this is as good as the previous one...And I can't believe that we've reached half of the season already :O :O ...Up next, my retrospectives of Season 8...so far. Let's get this show on the road, shall we??
So...We kick it off with Hastings briefing everyone in CTU about the current situation. Arlo is as always making useless remarks, and I believe they should get him off. In the meantime, Kayla is trying super hard to get away because she knows Tariq is suspicious...and has no brighter idea than to answer a phone. She has more time to pretend she is in the shower, and Kayla is freaking out with fear. I actually feel really sorry for her. In the meantime, Jack is headed for the hotel and they coordinate with the authorities. I don't know how long will she be able to hang on...So he breaks in and drags her by the force, but they have the feed at reach. He has her hostage in the hotel, right? So he shoots and steals a radio, posing as an officer. But Jack is not stupid and realizes it's a faux. Again, we're having a tense moment outside the hotel and they grab a cab. CTU in its entirely is on the chase of this, and I'm having some GREAT ideas. They are led to a tunnel to an empty taxi, and Jack is frustrated. Chloe is in charge of everything regarding the now-kidnapping of Kayla Hassan...
Hey, I've seen things like these ones before in previous seasons. A vault with a camera and the country's flag, plus a guy fixing something. Hmmm...
Back at CTU, Dana receives the unpleasant visit of Kevin's parole officer and asks Chloe to cover for her. People, she is uneasy and might crumble at any moment. She lies saying she had met Kevin Wade only a couple of days prior in a bar, and that she didn't know the other guy. Dana's ability to lie is impressive, but I still don't buy Katee Sackhoff's character. And the guy doesn't buy her story, deep down. I'm almost certain of it.
Back at the UN, the Hassans are having yet another argument when Jack and Cole go to see them. Jack promises they will do what they can to get her back. Tariq leads Kayla to where we've spoken before and for my suspected purposes...A video threat! The Hassans receive a call, and the trace is on! Omar won't do a thing until he sees his daughter and masked men show up in the video....That is really brutal, and here comes the question: What comes first: The role of President or the role of father? He has 15 minutes, and Dahlia's (the wife) in shock. Again, shit has hit the fan, and this is a race against the clock as everyone sees classified Intel on a screen. And Jack got a little too patriotic for my taste. But he is willing to take the risk, and since this is '24', it will work out.
At the vault, Tariq is up to something and Kayla is ready to call him all sorts of brutalities. Ladies, never trust men completely!! But she overhears something, and he is not willing to kill her. He will turn around, trust me.
At CTU, the guy is wandering around and asking Dana questions. This guy is following a suspicion, he's not stupid. BUT...there is something about him that doesn't fit for me. Dana calls Cole to let him know, saying 'it's over'. But she still loves him deep down. Cole has to push it aside and focus on the crisis at hand.
The deadline has been reached, what will happen? There is no response, and she doesn't want to die. Again, I feel sorry for her for being so naive in believing everything she says. I TOLD YOU SO!!! He's helping her escape and get to CTU. Oh, holy crap. He gets shot and the drives off for her life while her parents have their souls on a thread. Dana patches the call from a very altered Kayla. She doesn't know where she's going or what to do, and that Tariq is dead. Jack jumps in and she gives clues, and to also call her parents. She is near a bank, and Dana gives instructions.
Jack gets to the vault and it's empty. The guy is luring around. Something's up there. Just wait...Tariq is alive?! WTF?? This all had an intention. Hastings rushes off to stop the car with Kayla on to then...it's an EMP. They're fried! BOOM! CTU is on the dark!!
Wow!! The only thing that sucked was the lack of Renee :(. But PLEASE...bring in the next hour! The clock is ticking...
