Nicodrina's 24 Recaps: Day 8 / Hour 11

This hour kicks off with our suicide bomber kid in the chamber, letting his creativity float free with the schematics with a drawing with what he has to do in a wall and fussing with wires of the vest. Jack is being given the stats of the place and what to do in order to stop him and catch him alive. Chloe briefs him in on who is this kid (using a Mac!), and they decide the course of action as Hastings sees Dana and Cole arrive. Lots of tension moments in that elevator. I call that relationship over by the end of the day! If they stick together, that's love. Oh, and by the way...I hate the new CTU ringtone. Nothing beats the classics, and that is my phone's ringtone! Anyways, Hastings is mad as hell with these two, and even has the time to tell Dana about the change of clothes she has (now she wears a leather jacket, pants and a jacket), and both are on thin ice now. Hostility flies around.

From a building in front of the hospital, someone is watching the action and the person on the phone wants the kid dead and they arrive to some place where the rods are uncovered. There's a certain level of suspicion and tension between Chloe and Dana, of course featuring O'Brian's awkward manners. Arlo (whose purpose this season I can't still figure out) also messes with Walsh a bit (the dude REALLY wants her).

Back at St. Julian's, the attention from both Jack and the baddies is focused on suicide kid. Bauer manages to get in touch with him, in order to convince him to desist (Kiefer looks really weird in that camera). All this has to do with the peace agreement, and a speech full of passions follows. I insist that Mr. Sutherland deserves that Emmy, and has waited for it too damn long. There is a green light, and that might signal that it's activated.

In the hotel, Hassan's daughter is in bed with her lover, away from mom and dad's reach (I believe that this is the most we've seen regarding THAT for a while)...A call interrupts them, but that doesn't seem to matter and they make out instead. Hassan's wife is back to the UN, and the first thing she notices is her husband, thing that doesn't make her happy. All this leads to a fight between the two, blaming him mostly. But I understand Hassan: He has been betrayed twice by people he trusted in.

In an apartment, the kid's mom gets a visit from Cole and a whole field ops crew busts in. The first thing asked is whether she had contact with her son, and she says no. Then Ortiz notices the suitcase, and as soon as Cole tells her the woman panics and they take her away (and they asked her too if she knew about his son's whereabouts)

At CTU, Dana informs Hastings about Cole's ETA and apologizes too for what she did earlier. After the scold, she leaves and is called by a man...that is Kevin's parole officer! Now THIS is gonna become interesting!! Walsh tries to get him off his shoulder, but it isn't so easy. Dana is tense, and something tells me she will be caught and forced to confess she's a felon.

Back at St. Julian's, a crew is drilling through the chamber as Cole arrives with the kid's mom as he is one step closer to activating the explosive. Jack goes to talk to the woman, who wants nothing more than to see him as Ortiz gets a call from Dana, who tells him about the situation and that the officer is on his way. She is breaking down!. The kid's mom finds it super hard to believe, and as always, Jack says she is the only chance they have at stopping this (you know, the typical 'I give you my word'). She is led outside the chamber, and starts talking to him. He is shocked to see her there, and Jack leaves them alone. The guy is strong in his beliefs and it's too emotional as Chloe finds out they're being watched from somewhere else, so they have no choice but to get the woman away, the video feed dies and all it remains is to push the button. Jack plays his last card to mentally push him, and believe me...Bauer knows his shit. When he says it, he means it! Shit and tension is about to hit the faaaaaaaaaaaan!!! For the sake of his mother, he drops the remote and leaves the chamber. But this isn't over yet....Jack starts to work on the detornator and is activated...I'm on the EDGE here!! And he tells him that the guy behind this is Hassan's head of security before the vest goes off, the chamber is full of blood and we see a flying Jack. Now THAT's my classic 24, adrenaline to the vein!!

Jack manages to get through to Hassan and tells him everything, including Tariq's involvment as co-conspirator. He tells Jack back that the guy is in love with his daughter and is with her. The wife continues to try communicating with Kayla...until she does. Tariq's in the shower and she warns her daughter of the danger she's in. What a naive girl, I know love makes you blind, but this...? She sees him out of the shower and manages to tell them her hotel location, but she has to pretend in order to not get caught and she tells her to get dressed so they can work on getting the asylum. Kayla tries to stall him for as long as possible. He is suspicious, she is determined and Jack Bauer is on the chase. WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN???

What a ride. One of the best so far during this season, but the clock keeps ticking. Bring on the next hour!
