Yet another (late) update, as there is little left for the series finale. Let's get this show on the road, shall we? :)
First, we have Jack, who has escaped in a helicopter CTU's custody, and to avoid being hunted down by the Air Force, decides to hide off by ground. He knows it's the better way to avoid being caught 'by every law enforcement in the city'. Chloe, again appealing to the friend condition, begs him to desist and come back. But, of course, he's not going to stop until he has access to Dana and that she gives him all the information he wants.
For those matters, he enlists the help of an old friend to hand over what he needs(weapons and others). For me, it seems that Jack v/s the World battle has begun. He shows up in the doorway of this gentleman that looks like a war veteran. He has given Jack an enormous version of the famous bag as he heads into a warehouse where Dana Walsh is being held...or so he thinks. Because, really...it's part of a sting operation commanded by Chloe and Cole. But since Bauer is no fool, he finds out about this and takes out of play a couple of guys before disarming them, and explaining Ortiz what's the situation at risk with the Russians and President Taylor covering this up. So all Cole has to say is that Dana is actually being held some other place nearby.
Speaking of Ms. Walsh...considering what had happened in the previous hour with her, some guys have come to pick her up to transfer her to this facility. Of course, she is freaking out because she knows they know she spoke, therefore she's subject of potential murder or torture. I even felt a micro-dash of sympathy towards her as she pleaded to O'Brian. And, as I said, she was brought into some creepy-looking place where they immediately get on the torture fest, courtesy of the man from the 'private security firm'.
And who was the one that proposed it? The one and only Charles Logan!! Still, I don't trust shit of what he has done up to this point. Even though he managed to get the russians on board through the lunch with Novakovic, he's up to some real mean stuff, just like in season 5. Remember? He is manipulating Taylor at will, and Ethan is the only person that sees beyond that and faces him full force saying he doesn't trust his motivations. Him and THAT guy he brought along for the ride...Knowing Logan, there's a lot that has to happen. The man gives me the creeps, even though he was just watching the press conference from another office.
In the same line, we have Allison Taylor, who is getting ready all the details to announce Dahlia Hassan as the IRK head of State. Not only that, but she has confrontations on how to handle the Dana situation with Logan, putting emphasis in the use of non-coercive methods only and the feeling of Ethan being in disagreement when he walked away in the middle of the conference. Something similar happens to Hassan's widow, who is really nervous but has the support of her husband's cabinet, and most importantly, her daughter as she is presented.
And last, but certainly not least, we have Chloe and CTU. As I said, she tried to persuade Jack into doing the right thing and have him return to the Headquarters. It seemed to me that, when she had to instruct her staff about the sting operation, she felt uncomfortable. Torn between helping out a friend and fulfilling a duty to the nation.
