Nicodrina's 24 Recaps: Day 8 / Hour 18

Another recap of the best show on TV now, that comes to an end tomorrow. Of course, there will be a column the day after, full of reflections on Bauer & Co. For now, let's get this show on the road, shall we?

Raging Jack Bauer is in the house, baby! Seeking revenge for the death of his beloved Renee Walker (the episode actually starts with a mourning Jack near Renee's body, and a nurse concerned for him. Dude, I wanted to cry when she asks him if he's the husband of the deceased. Buaaaa!!!). Chloe calls to give him her condolences, and all he wants to know is who is the guy Renee spoke to her about. She wants him to calm down and let them take care of it, but we know he is so upset that wants to know where Bazhaev is being held.

So he heads to the Federal Courthouse and talks to Bazhaev. Of course, he says he doesn't know anything and using the threat of the family, he confesses that the Russians are behind everything and that is Dana Walsh who might have the answers he seeks.

Of course, he gets straight to business in the interrogation room, as is his method and demands names. Chloe and Cole are watching it all from outside, and the bitch says she's got proof...but wants an immunity deal. Typical '24' :)

After the talk with the President, he is asked to stand down and desist from questioning Dana. He looks disappointed, and as soon as the chopper lands to take him to an Air Force base to debrief him, he takes the guards hostage and takes over the helicopter. Do you REALLY think he was going to leave without a fight? Ladies and gentlemen, he's out of control!

Up next, there's President Taylor. She is going through a very tense moment regarding the situation with the Russians, Logan & Dahlia Hassan preparing to replace her husband at the signing. Seems like the Peace Treaty is back on track, and Ethan is happy for it...if it wasn't for President Logan (We'll see to it later).

When she is told Jack has lost it, no calls...She's going to CTU to speak to him herself!! :O. She praises O'Brian's work and is proud to meet her. The conversation gets really heated (dude, she even told him to stop!!) and, even though Jack offered arguments about why he has to interrogate Dana, she says she's a sociopath that could undermine the peace talks. (I'm with her there, even though Jack questioned her wanting to know the truth). Taylor managed to stand straight in this situation, and instructs Chloe that no one should be allowed close to Dana for the time being.

Related to this, there's Charles Logan. I knew he was up to something shady! Beyond the fact that he is doing Taylor a favor by meeting with the Russians and have them sit to the treaty table, he is able to convince both Ethan (who distrusts him deeply)and Allison that Jack needs to be stopped (My assumption is that he is involved with Novakovic & Co., and fears Bauer soooooooooooo bad...). We'll just have to wait and see whether this was the right choice.

And finally, there's CTU (or Chloe). She is starting to deal with her first challenges as head of the Unit with Taylor's visit, Jack's interrogation and posterior theft of an helicopter. It felt that she appealed more to her 'friend' position rather than the 'Director' one. She knows Jack is hurt, and wants nothing more than to help him out to endure the pain of Renee's death, but she has a duty with the country, so she'll have to enlist the help of Cole and Arlo to find Jack and avoid a bigger problem.

Nice episode, the clock keeps on ticking!
Till next recap!
